The Sr Supply Chain Manager manages and controls the procurement of materials, components, supplies and services that achieve service level and inventory turnover ratio objectives essential to the operation of the business unit. Responsible for coordinating and ensuring the lowest total cost supply base and competitiveness throughout the sourcing process. Manages and coordinates the activities of personnel in the purchasing department. Continuous focus on business strategies to include special focus on major projects Principal Activities Works with others to develop materials management strategies which ensure the achievement of procurement and inventory objectives Negotiates and establishes partnerships relationships with suppliers that support company goals and objectives Coordinates operational plans and schedules with material requirements and planning systems Manages inventory to optimum levels, including just in time programs where feasible Prepares instructions regarding purchasing systems, procedures, purchase orders and change notices. Develops and implements programs with suppliers and internal cross functional team members that address lead time production, order fill rate performance, quality performance, cost reduction, and technical improvements Researches and analyzes areas for improvement; proposes and evaluates solutions; implements chosen solutions Evaluates the material requirements plan (MRP) for all product lines. Generates and adjust purchase orders in support of MRP requirements. Communicates areas of concern to appropriate departments, individuals, and suppliers. Inputs, maintain, and adjust records or transactions to ensure system validity Audits and maintains MRP system integrity for areas of department and/or individual responsibility as defined by company or department guidelines Interfaces with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Sales and suppliers to resolve quality issues Sources and evaluates new suppliers and materials in conjunction with Quality Assurance and Engineering in support of company goals and objectives. Arranges for disposal of surplus materials Directs & controls warehouse activities to ensure the efficient and economical utilization of facilities for storing & distributing materials and equipment Design methods and policies ensuring most efficient and economical movement of all materials in and out of facilities Analyzes and evaluates inventory and delivery problems and recommends solutions JOB REQUIREMENTS CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS Knowledge Skills & Abilities 5-8 year experience in inventory and purchasing management Experience negotiating contracts in a cost competitive market 3 years minimum supervisory experience Experience with world-wide sourcing. C.P.M., C.P.I.M. or related certification preferred Education & Experience Bachelor's Degree
Salary Range:
$80K -- $100K
Minimum Qualification
Supply Chain & LogisticsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
